Today's Web page contains a number of MP3 audio files. Make sure that your computer speakers are ON, then click on the "Hear More" link it the Tip on today's page:

----------------
Tip: "Hear More" links in this page download audio clips that give extra
details on a subject. In this page the audio clips are stored in the MP3
audio file format. MP3 stands for MPEG-1 Layer 3, which does not stream.
(Hear More...)

----------------

CAN YOU HEAR THE AUDIO CLIP PLAY? IF NOT, YOUR BROWSER MAY NOT HAVE AN MP3 PLUG-IN (BROWSER'S DON'T KNOW HOW TO PLAY MP3 AUDIO FILES, SO THEY NEED THE HELP OF A PLUG-IN). Apple's QuickTime is a good media plug-in that can play a number of audio and image formats, and it's free. Try installing QuickTime if your browser says that it doesn't know what to do with the MP3 file when you click on those links in our home page.

IF YOUR BROWSER DOES HAVE AN MP3 PLUG-IN (SUCH AS QUICKTIME, OR SIMILAR), BUT YOU CAN'T HEAR THE MP3 AUDIO CLIPS ON YOU HOMEPAGE PLAY, POST A MESSAGE TO OUR EMAIL GROUP AND EXPLAIN THE PROBLEM SO I CAN HELP.

Q: HOW DO I KNOW IF MY BROWSER ALREADY HAS AN MP3 PLUG-IN?

A: WHEN YOU CLICK ON ONE OF THE "HEAR MORE" LINKS ON TODAY'S HOMEPAGE THE BROWSER WILL ATTEMPT TO PLAY THE FILE --  IT WILL NOT SAY THAT IT DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. IF THE BROWSER DISPLAYS A MESSAGE SAYING IT'S NOT SURE WHAT TO DO WITH THE MP3 FILE YOU CLICKED ON THEN IT DOESN'T HAVE A PLUG-IN CAPABLE OF PLAYING THESE TYPES OF AUDIO FILES. IF THIS IS THE CASE, TRY INSTALLING THE FREELY AVAILABLE  APPLE QUICKTIME PLUG-IN.
