------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: [MT35101] 4. SVG Specification [30 minute Exercise] ------------------------------------------------------------------- TIME: Complete this section within 30 minutes ------------------------------------------------------------------- The W3C's "SVG Specification" describes SVG in great technical detail. Software developers create SVG tools (such as SVG editors, plug-ins, players and viewers) by following the technical requirements set forth in the SVG Specification. Although technical specifications (also known as "specs") such as this are too complicated to read entirely unless you're a software developer, the introductory parts are often excellent overviews to the technologies they describe. Complete the first exercise listed on our home page (be SURE that you visit the SVG Specification site, not the home page for SVG!): ------------------ [30 minute Exercise] Visit the SVG Specification site listed above. Read these two sections in particular: 1 Introduction (read section "1.1 About SVG" in detail, skim the rest of the introduction) 2 Concepts (read sections "2.1" and "2.2" in detail, skim section "2.3") NOTE: DO NOT FOLLOW (VISIT) LINKS IN THESE READINGS -- JUST READ THE TEXT ON THESE PAGES (IGNORE LINKS). ------------------ -- ------------------------------------------------------------------- Aaron E.
