Note that the VRML97 specification DOES NOT define how developers should created shared multi-user worlds -- this is an enhancement that blaxxun added to it's Contact browser. Note, also, that Contact alone doesn't give you multi-user support: a "multi-user" server must also be used. CyberTown is blaxxun's flagship shared multi-user world, which is built using blaxxun's own server technology. You can create your own shared multi-user worlds using blaxxun's server technology (visit the blaxxun products area for details at your leisure, but not now). WARNING: CLOSE ALL BROWSER WINDOWS BEFORE CONTINUING! 3D CONTENT CONSUMES A *LOT* OF COMPUTING POWER AND RAM -- TO AVOID OVERTAXING YOUR SYSTEM CLOSE ALL WINDOWS THAT CONTAIN 3D CONTENT BEFORE CONTINUING. Join CyberTown and meet me in the main "3D" plaza: 1) Visit http://www.cybertown.com/, and click on the "JOIN" link shown in the lower right-hand corner (it's in yellow): LOG IN/JOIN Entering though this link will transport you into the Cybertown Plaza. 2) Sign up (join, don't just visit!) by visiting the "Immigration" link in the upper right-hand corner. You will then be emailed the Immigration code necessary to complete your Immigration to CyberTown, so check the email address you supplied in this step. 3) Enter the main Cybertown Plaza, which defaults to a 2D chat room.
